We have the Hillyard Field Organics, CSA contracts available at Artisan Kitchen!!!!! What's this, you ask?????
Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a relationship of mutual support and commitment between farmers and members with pledges of financial support BEFORE the growing season begins. Members help decide what is grown, how much will be planted and in return, they are assured of safe, nutritious fresh produce.
Hillyard Field Organic Farms will pack up a share of freshly-harvested produce each week for delivery.
The Farm Share Option supplies a family of 2 adults and 2 children with weekly produce. The bounty average is that of a half-bushel basket. Cost $475 and runs for 20 weeks from mid-May to September. However, there is an Early Bird Special and the cost for new members paying in full by March 31 is $450. Any partial payments and the cost remains at $475. Cost for returning members is $450.
The veggies depend on the growing season but a typical spring/fall haul might include mustard green mix, lettuce, radishes, sugar snap peas/shell peas, beets, carrots, spinach, Swiss chard, cabbage, kale, sweet potatoes and mushrooms. A summer yield might have potatoes, beets, carrots, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, okra, squash, zucchini, blackberries and watermelon.
